Modes of Learning

This semester project mainly centered a high school that will open in 24/7 and for 7 to 77. To serve these requirements we add other functions to our design such as performance center, dormitory, swimming pool. What is important is that the type of learning environment that we designed. Throughout the semester we were forced to explore possible variations of learning and teaching environments, classrooms. For this, we analyzed the relationships between subjects /objects /spaces/ time and studied the variations of them. In our design, we especially have the utmost importance to the classrooms and learning environments.

We located our classrooms on the north to get diffuse light and on the other side of the building, we have open learning environments which we designed without any walls. In these open learning areas, we have study platforms at different heights and studying nodes that teens can work individually.

We wanted to have flexible classrooms so we separate the classrooms by using movable bookshelf that also serves as a blackboard but we created common spaces for these classrooms since we don’t have solid walls. Also in some classrooms, we have learning hubs that teens can work together.
