Final Jury Model

I made my 1/500 scaled final jury model with an acrylic glass. I wanted to represent the archive with red material whereas my program plugins are represented by a transparent material. I think that in that way, both the continuity and the relations of the archive with program elements became visible and legible.

FINAL JURY

Finally, we had our final jury of the third year second semester architecture studio. Through the semester I study the vertical archive idea. For my design strategy archive is the most important element and I want it to be continuous and be defined by program plugins. I prepared different scenarios for archive and design spaces in light of these scenarios.

Favorite Cases in Challenge|Library

Our studio’s ‘5 DAYS CHALLENGE’ continues and the new challenge is about ‘library’. Here are my favorite 3 library cases.

1.Media Library [Third-Place] in Thionville, Dominique Coulon & associés, France

The program of the projects calls the functions of a media library into question, and put it in a place where the public become actors in their own condition Continue reading “Favorite Cases in Challenge|Library”

Favorite Cases in Challenge| workspace

As the studio, we started ‘5 DAYS CHALLENGE’ and each day one person choose 5 examples about the tag given by our instructors and challenge another person. This challenge is made for us to discover some examples around the world and share with our friends. This week’s topic is ‘workspace’. And I will share my favorite cases. Initial Proposal

After the site trip that we made to Bursa, we were expected to make a proposal which includes our program and in the light of our site analysis but especially related with the definition of ‘work’.

As an initial proposal, I wanted to design a vertical archive according to my user profile and my work definition. I wanted to design a building that researchers, experts come here and work individually, collectively and have an intellectual production. For this reason, the archive is important for me and I wanted to make it dominant. My other program elements will be attached to it and work with it.

Site Trip to Bursa

Design problem of this semester is the design of a WORKROOM in Bursa. The site to be studied is now used as an open-air carpark and is located in the historical site in the city center. In close environs of the site, there are many historical buildings such as Ulucami,
Uzun Çarşı, Koza Han, which mainly defines the pedestrian movement, social, commercial and urban activity patterns around the site.

We were expected to design a workroom by proposing different modes of work and working spaces and should include the discussion on work/:er/:ing and incorporate the properties of the close vicinity.
